HOW DO I KNOW MY CROSS-COUNTRY SKI SIZE?

Our cross-country ski offerings are for the recreational skier in mind. Our skis are sized based on weight and our package recommendation will depend on where you plan to ski. Mr. Bike and Ski typically stocks Rossignol Evo XT 55, Evo XT 60 and Evo XT 65.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKI SIZING TIPS

It is very important to be honest about your weight when getting sized for cross-country skis. When using skis that are designed to bear the weight of a lighter person, you’ll drag the grip zone. This creates excess friction that’ll make even skiing downhill a drag (pun intended).

On the other hand, if you run skis designed for a person heavier than you, you won’t be able to get enough grip. This is a result of not being able to fully compress the ski, limiting forward movement.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKI SIZING GUIDE

The Rossignol Evo XT 55 is best suited for a beginner skier who wants to cruise along snow-covered groomed trails. The ski's shorter length and wide dimensions enhance stability and maneuverability to explore trails with confidence. We recommend Ludington Park, Days River Pathway, and Rapid River Ski Trail.

The Rossignol Evo XT 60 package is ideal for new to intermediate skiers looking to break a sweat and enjoy a snow-covered landscape. The XT 60’s are perfect for groomed and ungroomed trails. We recommend the West Side Recreation area, located in Escanaba proper.

The Rossignol Evo XT 65 is best suited for the skier who wants to explore ungroomed trails out their back door. The ski's shorter length enhances maneuverability and control for increased confidence, while the waxless base offers a compromise between grip and glide with no prep required.

All Rossignol cross-country Evo XT skis include the Tour Step-In bindings that add to the ease of use with step-in convenience. All of our cross-country ski packages include boots, poles, bindings, and mount. We also will make recommendations on how to use, where to ski, what to wear how to service your skis.
